History

The Industrial Engineering Department in Universitas Pelita Harapan was established in 1994. The vision of the department was to become a national education institution which applies total transformation principles in preparing student’s future which allows them to apply their knowledge in Industrial Engineering field, to build characters and attitude that glorifies God. The mission of the department was:

To prepare students to become a professional, equipped with the latest management and industrial technology skills in facing future challenges; able to apply the knowledge in finding creative solutions to the problems in industry; having high integrity and morale and strong motivation to learn continuously.
To improve academic staff to increase the life quality and social service to society.

With the strong vision and mission, IE department continually improve its staff quality as well as its facilities. One of the advanced facility built by the department is the Center of Industrial Technology which was built in 1997. This Laboratory was built to cater the multidisciplinary technology research and development. To build this lab, in 1997, Prof. Dr. Muljono, the dean of Industrial Technology faculty, a number of lecturers and students flew to Netherlands to do a comparison study as part of preparation of the laboratory installment. A corporation with FESTO, a supplier of control system products, was also established.

Since1998, a number of laboratories under the Centre of Industrial Technology were also developed. These are CNC lab, Industrial Automation and Robotics Lab, CAD/CAM lab, Industrial Control System Lab, Integrated Business System (ERP) Lab.

Up to now, five highly qualified personels have led the department:

2002 – 2004    Agustina Christina, M.Eng.Sc
2004 – 2011 Dr.Ing- Anthony Riman
2011 – now Laurence, M.T

The Industrial Engineering Department UPH has graduated so many alumni who are now working in various industries.
